TACTICAL TRACKING IN COUNTER IED OPERATIONS


COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This is an intensive five day course designed for law enforcement, and firefighter EOD teams. It focuses on utilizing visual tracking techniques to locate suspected roadside IEDs. Beginning with a PowerPoint presentation, students learn basic tracking techniques and progress to team tracking. Students are then introduced to roadside IEDs currently used by terrorists worldwide. This is also presented as a PowerPoint presentation, supplemented with very realistic simulated IEDs. Course topics include Prevention strategies, Identification, detection, intelligence gathering, as well as Post blast analysis. This holistic approach provides for the best possible outcome by combining the various technologies in the safest way possible. The final day of the course concentrates on using tracking skills to locate simulated IEDs.

INCIDENT RESPONSE TO TERRORIST BOMBINGS


COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This is a basic performance level program designed for state and local first responders. The four hour PowerPoint presentation focuses on how to safely respond to terrorist bombing incidents. Topics include, identification of explosives and components, response tactics, as well as strategies for preventing and deterring bombing attacks. This is a certified New Mexico Tech, and Department of Homeland Security training program instructed by a certified instructor.

UNDERSTANDING AND PLANNING FOR SCHOOL BOMB INCIDENTS


COURSE DESCRIPTION:


This is a basic course, designed for state and local law enforcement, firefighters, as well as school employees. The four hour course addresses warning signs of aggressive behavior, threat assessment, response, and preventive strategies. It also provides valuable information on developing a bomb incident response plan. This is a certified New Mexico Tech, and Department of Homeland Security training program, instructed by a certified instructor.
 

FOREIGN ANIMAL DISEASE RESPONSE FOR FIRST RESPONDERS

COURSE DESCRIPTION:


This is a four course designed to introduce the first responder to agroterrorism. The participant will gain an appreciation of the importance of emergency responders to agricultural security and the vulnerability of American agriculture to foreign animal disease threats. This course is further designed to provide training throughout the emergency response community for an effective and rapid response in the event of a threat. Topics include, Introduction to agroterrorism, Quarantine, Personnel Protective Equipment, Euthanasia and Disposal, Cleaning and Disinfection operations. This course is applicable to Law Enforcement, Fire, EMS, and has application to all first responders as defined (HSPD-8).

TACTICAL TRACKING OPERATIONS FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT LEVEL- 1

COURSE DESCRIPTION:


Tactical Tracking Operations is an intensive 5 day, 40-hour course designed to instruct students how to conduct tracking operations safely as a tactical team. Stressed throughout the course is 100% camouflage all the time. Students also learn how tracking skills can apply to many aspects of law enforcement. Some of these are evidence collection, forensic evidence, foot print evidence, as well as intelligence gathering while conducting tactical operations. Students will be expected to practice these techniques throughout the course. Working as a team the students will be able to perform a tracking operation using their tracking skills, by tracking the instructors approximately 5 miles to an unknown location. During this tracking exercise the students are operating on their own, without instructors.

BASIC ITEMS REQUIRED:

Camel-Back water hydration system or canteen
MREs or trail mix
Tactical clothing (Camouflage)
Good pair of field hiking boots
Tactical weapons
Rain gear
Good pair of binoculars (Optional)

OTHER TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Training will take place rain or shine.
Tactical uniform will be worn at all times during the course
Students are required to carry tactical weapons.
Other than day one, all lunch breaks will be in the field.


PATROLLING IN LAW ENFORCEMENT ANTI-TERRORIST OPERATIONS LEVEL-11

COURSE DESCRIPTION:


Also offered is an advanced five-day course combining intelligence gathering, and tracking operations. Using the military forward patrol base concept as a model, I demonstrate how multiple tracking teams can run tactical operations in the field from a secure base. This course is designed for tactical teams who may be tasked with conducting operations against terrorists, counter-narcotic, and fugitive recovery in remote wilderness areas. The course presentation is overhead/lecture,  then its out in the field for the remaining four days. This is an advanced course requiring students to have previously attended the Tactical Tracking Operations course.

BASIC ITEMS REQUIRED

Camel-Back water hydration system or canteen
MREs for four days, (12 meals), and /or trail mix
Tactical clothing (Camouflage)
Good pair of field hiking boots
One tactical backpack system
Rain gear, leather gloves black
Good pair of binoculars
Tactical lights

OTHER TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Training will take place rain or shine.
Tactical uniform will be worn at all times during the course.
Students are required to carry tactical weapons.
Other than day one, all meals will be in the field.
Pack extra clothing, sleeping bags etc. Keep it light as possible, you will be required to carry, and train with it for four days unsupported.
Absolutely no smoking, and no campfires, this is to be treated as a tactical operation, simulating real world conditions.


INTRODUCTORY TWO DAY, TACTICAL TRACKING COURSE

COURSE DESCRIPTION:


This is an intensive course of instruction and practical application of basic tracking techniques, This is a two day, 16 hour course, starting with the basics of tactical tracking, followed by individual tracking, and progressing to team tracking. This course is easily modified for those requiring one on one instruction. This course is applicable to individual snipers and sniper teams, tactical teams, as well as patrol officers.

Tactical clothing (Camouflage)
Good pair of hiking boots
Tactical weapons
Rain gear
Good pair of binoculars (Optional)

RURAL LAW ENFORCEMENT TERRORISM SEMINAR

SEMINAR DESCRIPTION:


This is an intensive eight-hour course of instruction designed for rural law enforcement officers. The seminar provides a close look at domestic, and international groups currently operating within the United States. This is a power point presentation, with overheads as a backup. Seminar topics include, the terrorist threat, terrorist organization, recruitment, training, and financing, explosive threat and recognition, as well as proactive counter measures, tactical site survey, and intelligence gathering in rural operations.

TERRORIST BOOBY TRAPS

COURSE DESCRIPTION:


Terrorist Booby Traps course is designed for law enforcement tactical teams. The course is applicable to officers who may be conducting counter- narcotic operations, fugitive recovery, or anti-terrorist operations. This is an intensive course designed to instruct the professional on how to safely identify and deal with the growing threat of booby traps in remote areas. Topics include terminology, firing devices, improvised devices, and counter measures. The course also includes a booby trap lane to test officer’s ability to safely search, identify, and deal with a wide variety of traps. The course is approximately six to eight hours depending on the number of participants.

 


THE TACTICAL SITE SURVEY

COURSE DESCRIPTION:


The tactical site survey is one of the best ways to be proactive in preparing for operations against criminal activity, or terrorist events. Not preparing them is to severely cripple your capability to deal with a given tactical situation. Site preparation surveys on high profile targets are a high priority consideration. This being the case it is essential that tactical site surveys be conducted as thoroughly as possible.

This course of instruction will cover every aspect of site surveys, and how they are documented. Topics will include valuable information on how to conduct risk analysis of potential sites, how a site survey lays the groundwork for successful operations, as well as legal and logistical considerations. Other topics include the use of emerging technologies in site preparation, as well as command and control at the site. The course is about three hours long. It is a PowerPoint presentation, which is full of cost, and time cutting ideas that will provide through and professional results during an operation. Finally, I will show you how you can test the survey by performing a simulation, which will immediately point out vulnerabilities.


EXECUTIVE PROTECTION SEMINAR FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT

SEMINAR DESCRIPTION:


With the accelerated level of criminal activity, and the ever-increasing threat of terrorism, many departments are faced with the challenging task of ensuring that their dignitary protection program, if one exists, is current, and prepared to handle the job. Much more than simply a bodyguard course, instruction includes: organization of a protective detail, explosive devices, risk analysis, mission planning putting it all together.
Other topics include area security, transitory protection, asset protection as well as operations at the command center.. This is a two-day seminar crammed with expert advice and organizational planning ideas. An executive protocol addresses all aspects of conducting protective operations with the client’s family, as well as the executive boardroom.
Whether from a terrorist, criminal, or mentally deranged individual, kidnapping and assassination is a real threat. A protective detail cannot be thrown together; it must be comprised of well-trained individuals, under a capable command and control. This seminar will lay the foundation for departments to form and maintain a close protection team, and to implement policy and training.

 


RESPONDING TO, AND INVESTIGATING TERRORISM

SEMINAR DESCRIPTION:


This is a new addition to the line up of courses currently offered, This is an eight hour seminar which is designed for rural agencies which typically lack the resources of larger agencies in responding and investigating acts of terrorism. Specifically it is meant to instruct the professional on how to safely respond to acts of terrorism, and how to properly investigate terrorist events safely. Critical topics will include responding to terrorist events, chemical and biological agents, radiological, explosive, as well as incident planning.
An essential area covered is an overview of terrorism yesterday as compared to current aspects of terrorism, as well as what investigators need to know about terrorism, investigative techniques unique to terrorism cases. Some of the investigative techniques covered include polygraph, surveillance, crime scene, mail and trash covers, undercover operations, and locating fugitive terrorists. In conclusion the future of terrorism investigations are discussed to include new investigative techniques and legal issues unique to terrorism investigations.


OPFOR / TERRORIST SIMULATIONS TRAINING

ABOUT OPFOR, TERRORIST SIMULATIONS:


Professional scenario development, and role-playing, conducted by experienced professionals, which come from a variety of backgrounds, from Law Enforcement, and Special Operations community. We can provide realistic penetration, or hostage simulations, which will test your installations security and response force capabilities.

The terrorists are not conventional, and the training should not follow conventional, or canned exercises. Tactical simulations should test every member of your team to the maximum by providing realism throughout the simulation. Everything should be as it would in real life, from weapons, clothing, and tactics. Our knowledge of international, and domestic terrorism allows us to tailor the simulations to your specific threat level.

Whether for corporate clients, government agencies, or Law enforcement, realistic training is critical in preparing for the realities of terrorist violence. Canned scenarios using inexperienced personnel will not test your team’s performance to the maximum. We can assist you in preparing for special threat and crisis situations.

In addition to the situational training, security assessment, and terrorist group profile, instruction can be provided during the after action review. This is followed up by a written in-depth evaluation by the training team.


PREVENTION AND RESPONSE TO SUICIDE BOMBING INCIDENTS

COURSE DESCRIPTION:

This is an awareness level course for first responders. The four hour power point presentation emphasis is focused on prevention and safe response. Topics include: Defining the suicide bombing threat, Information collection indications and warnings, as well as Personal protection issues. This is a certified New Mexico Tech and Dept of Homeland Security training program instructed by a certified instructor.
