COMBAT
TRACKING IN COUNTER IED OPERATIONS
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is an intensive five day, 40 hour
course of instruction designed to utilize visual
tracking techniques to locate suspected roadside
IEDs. Students learn basic tracking techniques
beginning with a power point presentation.
Starting with individual tracking (basic
tracking techniques), and progressing to team
tracking. Students are then introduced to
roadside IEDs currently utilized by terrorist
insurgents. This is also presented as a power
point presentation supplemented with realistic
non-explosive simulated IEDs. The final day of
the course concentrates on using tracking skills
to detect simulated IEDs. The course will cover
Prevention Strategies, Identification,
Detection, Intelligence Gathering, as well as
Post Blast Analysis. Students will work as a
team to detect IEDs. This holistic approach
provides for the best possible outcome.
COMBAT TRACKING FOR MILITARY LEVEL-1
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
Combat Tracking is an intensive 40-hour course
designed to instill aggressive combat tracking
techniques to apprehend armed and dangerous
combatants (Terrorists), which may be operating
in your area. Students will learn how to conduct
follow up operations as a team. Stressed
throughout the course is 100% camouflage all the
time. Gathering intelligence while conducting
the follow up is absolutely essential for a
successful outcome, and will be stressed every
day. Students are expected to put these
techniques to use throughout the course.
Tracking students begin with individual
tracking, gradually progressing to team tracking
and culminating with a five-mile follow-up
tracking the instructors. The team is entirely
on their own during this part of the course. The
techniques of counter tracking and anti-tracking
are also covered in detail. This preparation is
a must for military members about to become
active participants in the war on terror.
BASIC ITEMS NEEDED:
Camel-Back water hydration system, or canteen
MREs or trail mix
Tactical clothing (camouflage)
Good pair of combat boots
Tactical weapons
Rain gear
Good pair of binoculars (optional)
OTHER TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:
Training will take place rain or shine.
Tactical uniform will be worn at all times
during the course
Students are required to carry tactical weapons
Other than day one, all lunch breaks will be in
the field
COMBAT TRACKING IN
COUNTER IMPROVISED EXPLOSIVE DEVICES
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is an eight-hour course of instruction
designed to apply visual tracking techniques to
locate and identify suspected IED sites. This
course has been developed specifically for
military members in preparation for entering
combat areas, which have a history of IED use.
The instructor has developed a comprehensive
base of knowledge and tactics to locate
suspected IED sites.
Course subjects include: types of IEDs, IED
emplacement, detection of long and short term
IEDs, remote viewing techniques using optics,
Surveillance operations, threat indicators, as
well as terrorist IED tactics. The course
provides realistic simulations of common types
of IEDs currently used by terrorists world wide,
as well as what they are composed of. The course
is two hours of classroom instruction, and six
hours of practical in the field locating
emplaced simulated IEDs.
Do to the advanced tracking techniques; students
are required to have first completed The Combat
Tracking Course Level-1, or the two-day
introductory tracking course.
INTRODUCTORY TWO DAY,
TACTICAL TRACKING COURSE
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This is an intensive course of instruction and
practical application of basic tracking techniques,
This is a two day, 16 hour course, starting with the
basics of tactical tracking, followed by individual
tracking, and progressing to team tracking. This
course is easily modified for those requiring one on
one instruction. This course is applicable to
individual snipers and sniper teams, tactical teams,
as well as patrol officers.
BASIC ITEMS REQUIRED:
Camel-Back water hydration system or canteen.
MREs or trail mix
Tactical clothing (Camouflage)
Good pair of hiking boots
Tactical weapons
Rain gear
Good pair of binoculars (Optional)
OTHER TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
